Baker to run for Georgia gov.

Georgia Attorney General Thurbert Baker (D) is set to run for Governor, the Atlanta Journal Constitution is reporting. Baker, who has been AG for 12 years, received more votes than any other statewide Democratic candidate in 2006, the last time he was up for re-election.
Jeff DiSantis, acting as a spokesman for Baker, said the attorney general has prepared the paperwork necessary to start raising money, and will file official notice shortly after the Legislature adjourns.
