RNC Chairman Michael Steele will hit the road Thursday to target four vulnerable House Democrats on healthcare legislation.
Steele will visit districts in Ohio and Indiana to ramp up pressure on the heartland Democrats before they return to Congress next week.
The chairman will start off the day by visiting the district of Rep. Baron Hill (D-Ind.), followed by stops in the districts of Reps. Steve Driehaus (D-Ohio), Zach Space (D-Ohio) and Mary Jo Kilroy (D-Ohio).
The four were all elected in relatively Republican districts during the last two election cycles.
The stops in the Midwest are just the latest in a series of high-profile events for Steele since July 20th, when he gave a speech at the National Press Club on Republicans' opposition to current healthcare plans being considered by Congress.
Since then, the RNC has spent almost $1 million in healthcare messaging, including television ads nationally and in the districts of Democrats targeted by Republicans in 2010.
Steele has also generated headlines by promoting the "Seniors' Health Care Bill of Rights," which the RNC bolstered in television ads this week, though Democrats have taken strong exception to the bill of rights.
