Dems mock 'dream team' of GOP Senate recruits
Democrats are mocking Republican recruits for the 2010 election cycle as a "dream team" straight out of a nightmare.
The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) released a web video Thursday mocking the starting lineup of GOP candidates in next fall's election, pouncing on the backgrounds and occasional foibles of each candidate.
The video goes after former Rep. Rob Portman (R-Ohio), former H-P CEO Carly Fiorina (Calif.), former Rep. Pat Toomey (R-Pa.), former New Hampshire Attorney General Kelly Ayotte, and Rep. Roy Blunt (R-Mo.).
The ad mocks the candidates, saying that after years of "Republican economic mismanagement," the candidates should "stay on the bench."
“If Republicans think that these Senate candidates can save their party from the political wilderness, they have another thing coming,” said DSCC Communications Director Eric Schultz. “If this is all the Republican Party has to offer, they should really go back to the drawing board.”
