Primary challenger for Sen. Bennet files
Former Colorado state House Speaker Andrew Romanoff made it official Thursday, filing an exploratory committee for Senate.
He is set to challenge appointed Sen. Michael Bennet (D-Colo.) in a primary, and his announcement comes a day after former Lt. Gov. Jane Norton (R) filed her own exploratory committee.
From the Denver Post:
Former state House Speaker Andrew
Romanoff announced today he has filed the paperwork with the Federal
Election Commission required for him to challenge U.S. Senator Michael
Bennet in a Democratic primary. Romanoff could not be reached for comment, but the filing was announced in a news release. "He will make a public announcement of his intentions next week," the release stated.
