Sanford 'came close' to resigning

Gov. Mark Sanford (R-S.C.) says he thought about resigning in June after his affair came to light but has now decided to stay in office.

"I came close to resigning in June but now I believe the people of South Carolina just want us to get back to business," Sanford told WSAV in Beaufort.

Influential legislators in Sanford's party have called for his resignation, and some are even considering impeachment.
