

Campaign update: Wilder disses Deeds, Kind stays put
Former Virginia Gov. Doug Wilder (D) isn’t picking
sides in his state’s governor’s race in November. Not good for Democrat
Creigh Deeds, as Wilder recently said he was even contacted by the
White House.
Bad news for the House GOP – Rep. Ron Kind (D-Wis.) won’t run for governor after all. That makes state Sen. Dan Kapanke’s (R) task more difficult than an open seat would have been. Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett (D) is the next big-name Democrat to weigh the governor’s race.
A former Rep. Joe Sestak (D-Pa.) aide will run for Sestak’s House seat.
