Poll: Lowest support yet for healthcare
Public support for healthcare reform has dropped to its lowest point this year, Rasmussen finds.
Just 41% of likely voters say they favor the reform proposed by President Obama and Democrats. 56% of respondents are opposed.
Americans are split on whether they expect the legislation to become law. 46% believe it will, while 47% do not.
Still, Rasmussen notes that the current findings are not a significanat drop from previous results:
The overall picture remains one of stability. Today’s record low support for the plan of 41% is just a point lower than the results found twice before. With the exception of a slight bounce earlier this month following the president’s nationally televised speech to Congress to promote the plan, support for it has remained in the low-to-mid 40s since early July. During that same time period, opposition has generally stayed in the low-to-mid 50s.
