Coakley poll has her up 35 in Mass. special
Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley has released a poll showing her with a 35-point lead in the Democratic primary for Sen. Ted Kennedy's (D-Mass.) seat.
The special election primary is just two months away, and Coakley's poll shows her with 47 percent of the vote. Rep. Michael Capuano (D-Mass.) follows in second at 12 percent, while Boston Celtics co-owner Steve Pagliuca is at 4 percent and City Year co-founder Alan Khazei is at 1 percent. The survey was conducted by Lake Research.
Coakley has previously polled big leads, including by a very similar margin in a Suffolk University poll three weeks ago.
It should be noted that the poll Coakley's campaign released today was actually conducted shortly after that Suffolk poll, which also showed Coakley at 47 percent and had everybody else in single digits.
