Congress takes on texting while driving

The Congress will look into the dangers of text messaging while driving next week.

After the Department of Transportation waged a public campaign earlier this month to warn of the hazards of using cellular phones to send text messages in the car, the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation will hold a hearing into the matter.

The hearing, to be held this coming Wednesday, will focus on "Combating Distracted Driving: Managing Behavioral and Technological Risks."
