BREAKING: Senate Finance Committee advances healthcare bill

The Senate Finance Committee on Tuesday advanced Chairman Max Baucus' (D-Mont.) mark out of committee on a mostly expected, 14-9 vote.
Democrats voted together on both the procedural and final votes. Defecting and voting with them was Sen. Olympia Snowe (R-Maine), who assured colleagues earlier in the day that her vote to advance the proposal out of committee should not be interpreted as a vote in favor of a bill once it reaches the floor.
Senate leaders will now morph the chairman's mark into an actual bill, and that product will be combined with the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pension Committee's final product.
