

Campaign update: Lamont for Sestak, White House lending a hand
At noon today, Ned Lamont will endorse Rep. Joe Sestak (D-Pa.) in his primary with Sen. Arlen Specter (D-Pa.). Lamont was the last Senate candidate to beat an incumbent in a primary, though Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) went on to beat him as an independent in the general election.

It appears a Chamber of Commerce poll showed Florida Gov. Charlie Crist (R) leading Senate primary opponent Marco Rubio just 44-30 – a much closer race than early polling has indicated. Those numbers weren't released with the poll, but have since leaked.
Much of Rubio's $1 million third-quarter haul came from in-state, rather than conservatives from around the country. If he can add them to the fold, he could raise lots more.
