Hoffman shows $206k raised, $73k on hand

Conservative Party candidate Doug Hoffman raised $206,000 for the special House election in upstate New York through Oct. 14, but he had spent more than that and had $73,000 in the bank last week.

Hoffman was the first of the three candidates in the race to file his pre-election financial report. The rest are due by midnight.

Hoffman’s report shows he raised just more than $200,000, self-funded $102,000 and spent $230,000.

Hoffman’s campaign only seems to have gained steam in the last week, though, and 48-hour contribution reports filed after the end of the filing period show him raising another $48,000.

That brings him over $250,000 raised for the special election.
