House GOPers line up to denounce Dems' healthcare reform effort
House GOP leaders encouraged their rank and file to speak out on the
House Floor Tuesday morning against the Democratic healthcare proposals
being discussed behind closed doors.
At
least 30 lawmakers lined the first few rows of seats on the GOP side of
the aisle while members used one minute speeches to denounce the
healthcare reform measures.
Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) made a
point of attacking his Democratic counterparts for conducting the
negotiations on their bill behind closed doors. Most of the GOP leadership, including Minority Whip Eric Cantor (Va.), Conference Chairman Mike Pence
(Ind.), Vice-Chairwoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers (Wash.) also delivered speeches.
Senate Republicans have also been taking to the floor to decry the president's handling of healthcare reform.
