RNC demands Obama condemn Grayson
President Barack Obama must condemn Rep. Alan Grayson (D-Fla.) for calling a lobbyist a "whore," the Republican National Committee (RNC) demanded Tuesday.
In a recently released radio interview, the controversial Grasyon called lobbyist Linda Robertson a "K Street whore." Robertson is fighting against Grayson's effort to audit the Federal Reserve. His spokesman later defended his remarks, but Republican and Democratic lawmakers condemned them.
Larimer added that "Americans across Florida and the entire nation can agree that Grayson's comments are not characteristic of an 'outstanding member of Congress.'"
Obama named Florida Democratic Reps. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Kendrick Meek, and Alan Grayson as "outstanding" lawmakers. All three were in attendance at the Democratic fundraiser last night.
"She attacked the congressman and his efforts to promote a Republican bill to audit the Federal Reserve. She actually questioned his understanding of the difference between fiscal and monetary policy," Todd Jurkowski responded inThe Orlando Sentinel. "This is [a] person who used to be the chief lobbyist for Enron attacking the intelligence and motives of a congressman who used to be an economist."
Grayson first made headlines when he took to the House floor late last month to say that the Republicans health plan is for the ill to "die quickly."
