Deeds didn't make his case to voters
That’s what Democrats will try to do if and when he loses Tuesday’s governor’s race in Virginia. And they might have good reason.
The final Public Policy Polling survey on the race shows 63 percent of voters thought Bob McDonnell made a strong case for why he should be governor, and just 34 percent said that of Deeds (including 36 percent of Deeds supporters).
This fits the theme, which has been pushed anonymously by the White House, that Deeds just really didn't have what it took in the general election.
The poll has McDonnell up 56-42 overall.
