Fiorina counters DeVore/DeMint with 8 GOP senators

By Aaron Blake - 11/05/09 04:01 PM ET

Carly Fiorina (R) on Thursday announced the endorsements of eight Republican senators for her just-launched California Senate campaign.

After primary opponent Chuck DeVore annonced the backing of Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) this week, Fiorina fought back with Sens. Tom Coburn (Okla.), Susan Collins (Maine), Lindsey Graham (S.C.), Jon Kyl (Ariz.), John McCain (Ariz.), Mitch McConnell (Ky.), Lisa Murkowski (Alaska) and Olympia Snowe (Maine).

“I am humbled to have earned the endorsement of each one of these distinguished Republican Senators," Fiorina said in a statement. "They are all dedicated public servants and it is a true honor to have their support."

Let's be serious here - I'd vote for Godzilla if I thought the Big Lizard would cremate Boxer. — Keep that in mind, folks.BY cme on 11/06/2009 at 04:28
I'm no Californian, but one reason Carly lost her HP presidency had something to do with the loss of competitiveness after layoffs. HP never has regained its Hewlett-Packard cachet. Lots of those HP layoffs in California.BY Edward Craig on 11/06/2009 at 06:52
For anybody that knows, her "impressive" list of Senators are the most liberal Republicans - birds of a feather. We don't need more elitists that think they know best. Stick with Chuck DeVore. Jim DeMint has always had integrity - and the people's interest at heart.BY PatGMore on 11/06/2009 at 08:17
Ed, HP is factually doing better than when Carley was canned. The question is whether she had anything to do with its resurgence. If so, it was too little, too late.BY Lloyde on 11/06/2009 at 09:44
Fiorina was so awful as CEO at HP that the board of directors threw her out. Great qualification for political office. HP is a much better company with her gone. No way will I vote for her for dog catcher, never mind senator.BY Tony M on 11/06/2009 at 10:35
I agree with PATGMORE. She was only endorsed by notrious liberal RINOs, like Coburn and Kyl.BY EuskalHerria on 11/06/2009 at 13:03
I will stay with DeVore. And I'll stay focused on the issues. This isn't a popularity contest for Prom Queen.BY Janice T on 11/06/2009 at 16:28
Fiorina did not lead at ATT breakup - she let others do the hard work. I know - I was there. I was a consultant at HP when first ever down sizing took place under her at that company. HUGE resentment against her. She botched her role for the McCain campaign as a "communicator" with misstatements and bad speak. She may have aspirations. Boxer has inspiration and results, Thank God.BY QuakerBeach on 11/08/2009 at 02:47
