One more Dem opposes healthcare reform
Count one more Democrat as a "no" vote for healthcare reform.
Rep. Eric Massa (D-Ind.) said he'll oppose the bill when it comes up for a vote tonight.
"It is exceptionally painful to me to not be able to bring a common-sense bill on health care reform to my district, but I will not vote on something that I think will hurt the people who sent me to Washington, regardless of how popular it may be," Massa told reporters in a conference call.
Massa, who supports single payer, said the bill doesn't do enough to take on private insurers.
""At the highest level, this bill will enshrine in law the monopolistic powers of the private health insurance industry, period. There's really no other way to look at it. I believe the private health insurance industry is part of the problem," he said.
