Obama makes final plea for reform

President Obama urged lawmakers to answer "the call of history" and pass healthcare reform tonight.

In remarks from the Rose Garden, Obama, praised the work of House leaders who have shepherded reform legislation through the House, but said that "now is the time to finish the job."

"This is their moment," Obama said of members of Congress "This is our moment to live up to the trust that the american people have placed in us."

Obama said the he relayed the same message when he met with the Democratic caucus this morning.

"I reminded them that opportunities like this come around maybe once in a generation," he said, adding that most lawmakers never get a chance to improve their constituents' lives the way this bill does.
