Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) had a bit of fun today at the expense of two high-ranking Democrats.
After a procedural vote passed establishing the terms of the debate, House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) went to the microphone to ask for a round of applause for Rep. John Dingell (D-Mich.), who'd presided over the chamber for the first time since 1965 when he presided over the vote to approve Medicare.

Gohmert then tried some mischief. He moved that the
House "restore [Dingell's] chairmanship." Dingell was ousted as chairman of the
powerful Energy and Commerce Committee by Rep. Henry Waxman (D-Calif.)
in a struggle that tore at the fabric of the caucus.
On the other side of the room, Waxman grinned with clenched teeth as members laughed, a bit nervously.
