Casey backs more Afghanistan troops
Gen. George Casey lent his support this morning to calls for more troops in Afghanistan.
The Army Chief of Staff, Casey suggested he agreed with Gen. Stanley McChrystal's request for up to 40,000 additional troops as part of a "counterinsurgency" strategy in the country.
"I believe that we need to put additional forces into Afghanistan to give General McChrystal the ability to both dampen the successes of the Taliban, while we train the Afghan security forces," Casey told NBC's Meet the Press.
President Obama has yet to make a final decision about a troop surge, though reports suggest he's leaning towards sending 34,000 more soldiers to Afghanistan.
