Six arrested outside Lieberman's office

By Jordy Yager - 11/10/09 01:51 PM ET

U.S. Capitol Police arrested six people for unlawful entry on Tuesday after they refused to leave Sen. Joe Lieberman’s (I-Conn.) office.

The Independent lawmaker’s seventh floor office had seen nine previous demonstrators, also organized by activist group Code Pink, arrested last Thursday after they attempted to stage a sit-it, saying that Lieberman should stop accepting money from major insurance companies.

I hope they can stop all these right wingers from terrorizing th… …wait a minute. I thought it was the right wing that was the terrorists. The media always points at them as being un-lawful and dangerous. Looks like political correctness and diversity are far more dangerous in the real world.BY Pete on 11/10/2009 at 16:21
PETE, you could tell it was not right wingers by the coverage. If it was a Tea Party group, MSNBC, CNN, ABC, CBS, etc. would have interrupted their regular programming to bring you a special about terrorist storming a congressional office, while it has not been confirmed or denied, assault weapons may have been involved. It is still uncertain how many would have been hurt or worst if the authorities did not act quickly and decisively.BY Mark X on 11/10/2009 at 19:27
NO MORE DETAILS THAN THIS?BY Joe Ochoa on 11/10/2009 at 20:01
It appears that most comments are from full time right wing trolls. I am surprised that JAKE2, the biggest as*wipe troll has not posted something nasty, flippant or unreasonable yet. Lieberman is a paid flak of the insurance companies and already worried about his 2012 re-election.BY WHATTHE on 11/10/2009 at 21:05
This fraud of a representative should have never been re-elected. He is nothing but a mouthpiece for insurance gougers. Classic example of what is wrong with our government,or lack of these days. To have the gall to say wait another three or four years to adopt healthcare reform, while thosands die and lose their homes only goes to show what a useless piece of crap this guy is.BY walkman56 on 11/11/2009 at 06:24
I'm sorry but "Pete" is just plain wrong. From what I can tell from the limited information, this was a peaceful demonstration. These were not "terrorists." I wouldn't consider the right wingers at tea parties "terrorists" either - though their protests were loud and abusive toward anyone who disagreed with them. Some right wing abortion protesters are another story. Shooting doctors and bombing clinics is terrorism and those folks are definitely part of the "right wing."I wouldn't throw stones Pete - you live in a glass house.BY Bob on 11/11/2009 at 07:43
walkman56 since you obviously have your finger on the pluse of all aspects of the heathcare reform debate, you certainly must realize that BO is the one who has the gall to make all of his sheep wait 3 or 4 years for their taxpayer financed socialized medicine. None of the measures that are set out in this mess of a bill would even begin until 2013. Well except for the massive tax increases that will have to take place in order to pay for it. Those would begin immediately. Please expain how this could possibly be correct. People are dying in the streets. Why would the legislation not begin to fix the problems immediately. Could it be that even BO understands what a disaster this will be and wants to make sure he is out of office or already reelected and guaranteed another term. hmmmmBY GG on 11/11/2009 at 12:26
Isn't it ironic that Code Pink used to demonstrate their AntiWar against undeclared preemptive nationbuilding wars of GWB administrative policies? Now that Obama is president and has continued the "Same" GWB policies (and added a few more of his own by the way) they are now "silent" concerning their past agenda of protesting these "same" unconstitutiona l preemptively undeclared nationbuilding wars. Was it all that "Change" they were told they were getting and code pink just forgot to check to see if it indeed had actually occurred yet?BY Carol on 11/11/2009 at 13:46
