Campaign update: GOP leads generic, Kasich/Strickland tied

Republicans take the lead on the generic ballot, 48-44, in the new Gallup poll.

Former Rep. John Kasich (R-Ohio) is now tied with Gov. Ted Strickland (D-Ohio), 40-40.

Connecticut AG Richard Blumenthal (D) says he won’t run for governor next year but might run for Senate against Joe Lieberman (I) in 2012.

Beau Biden’s silence on running for Senate is starting to be conspicuous, especially when Bill Clinton and Gov. Jack Markell are publicly egging him on.

Ascendant Kentucky Senate candidate Rand Paul will meet with Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) on Friday.

Ummmm, maybe there is hope for Beau Biden after all. The military does make a man out of you and perhaps he's been around Patroits for enough time that it has rubbed off on him.
