UPDATED: Obama to Alaska for troop visit

President Obama is en route to Sarah Palin's home state this morning to visit with troops at Elmendorf Air Force Base.
Once he touches down near Anchorage, the president will have visited each of the 50 states.
Obama will speak to troops privately and then make public remarks. At 7PM ET Obama will depart Alaska for Tokyo.
UPDATE: Gov. Sean Parnell (R), who took over when Sarah Palin stepped down, will not attend any events with Obama. Why not, you ask?
According to the Anchorage Daily News: "Republican Gov. Sean Parnell will skip the visit and instead deliver a 'major' speech on deferred maintenance at the Associated General Contractors annual conference in Anchorage, a long-standing commitment, his spokeswoman said."
