Mahoney won't join N.H. GOP Senate primary
Republican National Committeeman Sean Mahoney will not join the increasingly crowded GOP Senate primary in New Hampshire.
NHpoliticalreport.com reports that Mahoney said he came to "the conclusion that there will be a good primary with good candidates and a great nominee at the end of the process."
Businessman Bill Binnie and former gubernatoral nominee Ovide Lamontagne recently joined former state Attorney General Kelly Ayotte in the primary. Ayotte remains the favorite, including of the establishment, but Binnie has money and Lamontagne has a track record with the GOP base.
Mahoney wasn't expected to be a particularly formidable part of the primary, but even with a crowded field potentially opening the door for him, he decided to leave it to the other candidates.
