Really big October for DNC
The Democratic National Committee (DNC) will one-up its GOP counterpart when it files a report showing it raised $11.5 million in October.
The Republican National Committee (RNC) bragged Wednesday of its off-year record $8.8 million haul for the month, but it wound up getting destroyed by the DNC's own off-year record.
The DNC has a slight advantage in cash on hand, $12.9 million to $11.2 million, but it does carry $4.4 million in debt, compared to zero for the RNC.
The DNC in the third quarter outraised the RNC for the first full quarter since 2004, and now, with it trumpeting its record October, we have to ask whether the long-inferior DNC fundraising operation has officially turned the corner.
The RNC has still outraised the DNC by more than $3 million combined this year, but it's much closer than it has been.
UPDATE: The DNC originally reported a cash on hand of $12.3 million. The figure has since been changed to $12.9 million. This post has been changed to reflect this.
