Boehner: Pelosi left marketing 'garbage'

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) will be left marketing "garbage" legislation to Americans, her GOP leader John Boehner (Ohio) said Thursday.

In a press conference with reporters, Boehner dismissed Pelosi's promise to tout Democrats' legislative achievements in the year to come.

"I hope she does a great job of marketing all the garbage they passed this past year," Boehner said.

Pelosi said during her end-of-year news conference with reporters that she is in "campaign mode" in the coming year.

"I have been making a lot of what we have talked to Members about is be proud of what we have done," she said. "We fully intend to be in the majority, and they will be in the majority when they return. And that if they need help in their election, that is my first responsibility, is to make sure that they come back."

Boehner said that Republicans have offered better solutions.

"When we have to stand up on principle and oppose our Democrat colleagues, we will do so," he said. "But we will also offer to the American people what we think is a better solution to the problem that's attempted to being fixed."
