Rep. Jim Moran (D-Va.) is a fan of MSNBC's Ed Schultz, so much so that he urged him to run for Senate Monday night.
"You know what I want to know, Ed? I want to know when you are going to run for the U.S. Senate,” Moran said on Schultz's broadcast. “That’s what I want to know. We need people like you in the Senate. We need to get rid of the damn filibuster and make it a more representative body."
Moran also urged Schultz to keep pressuring the White House to fight for the public option in healthcare legislation, arguing that President Barack Obama's staff pays more attention to MSNBC than Fox News.
"You got to keep up the pressure, Ed. You know they pay much more attention to what's said on MSNBC, particularly shows like yours, than on Fox or something like that. You know that."
Schultz, who has criticized Obama for not fighting for the public option, says the White House isn't his biggest fan.
"The White House is so mad at me they don't even talk to me anymore," Schultz said.
