

White House attacks GOP for pledging repeal
White House communications director Dan Pfeiffer has penned a response to GOP promises to repeal healthcare reform if they take over Congress in 2010.
In a post on the White House blog, Pfeiffer seizes on the most popular elements of reform--ban of denying coverage based on pre-existing conditions, preventing insurance companies from dropping coverage, etc.--to argue that Republicans are resorting to "opposition at any cost."
"[E]veryone should be very clear what is being called for here," Pfeiffer says of the calls for repeal. "At a time when insurance companies are finally about to be reined in, and when American families are finally about to be given control over their own health care, opponents of reform are advocating that insurance companies once again be allowed to run wild."
