NRCC considers Griffin a 'contender' for Synder's seat
The NRCC announced today it's awarded former U.S. Attorney Tim Griffin (R) "contender" status – one step below being ranked a full-fledged "young gun." Griffin, who once worked for Bush adviser Karl Rove, has met the GOP recruitment program's benchmarks for communications, outreach and fundraising.
“Tim Griffin has already proven that he will be a formidable candidate by meeting the Young Guns program's rigorous goals and is well on his way to building a winning campaign to put this seat back in the Republican column,” NRCC Chairman Pete Sessions said in a statement.
Griffin is currently in a three-way primary for the nod to face Rep. Vic Snyder (D-Ark.).
