Hoeven to announce Monday night

North Dakota Gov. John Hoeven (R) is set to make his Senate bid official this evening.

The governor will speak at 7 p.m. eastern at the Bismarck Area Republican District Conventions.

Hoeven has been expected to run for the seat ever since Sen. Byron Dorgan (D-N.D.) announced his retirement last week. The three-term governor gives Republicans a tremendously popular candidate, and they will likely be heavily favored to win the seat.
