Sen. McCain 'both concerned and leaning against' Bernanke
Sen. John McCain said Sunday morning that Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke "was in charge when we hit the iceberg" of the recession, thus his confirmation to a second term should be weighed carefully.
"His policies were partially responsible for the meltdown that we experienced," McCain said on "Face the Nation."
"I think that he should be held accountable."
But the senator also expressed concern about the resulting effect if Bernanke is turned down.
When pressed on whether he would vote against Bernanke, McCain said, "I'm both concerned and leaning against"
