Hutchison, Brown will not attend State of the Union
Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Texas) will not attend Wednesday's State of the Union address, according to media reports.
Hutchison, who is running for governor, will be meeting with constituents in Texas, according to a campaign spokeswoman.
Hutchison's absence was first reported by the Dallas Morning News.
Another Republican who will not be in attendance is Sen.-elect Scott Brown (Mass.)
Brown told Boston media outlets on Tuesday that he still needs to wrap up work as a state senator and meet with local leaders.
The senator-elect said Tuesday that he is targeting Feb. 11 as his swearing-in date.
