Deutch expected to replace Wexler
Florida state Sen. Ted Deutch is a heavy favorite in the Democratic special election primary today for Rep. Robert Wexler's (D-Fla.) seat.
Wexler resigned his seat to take a position heading up a Middle East think tank. The race he left behind is expected to be a relatively easy win for Democrats.
Deutch has raised about $1 million for the race. No other candidate had spent even $60,000 on the race through Jan. 13.
He also has the backing of Wexler and former President Bill Clinton.
Other Democrats running include former Broward County Commissioner Ben Graber. Republicans running include 2008 candidate Edward Lynch and a pair of political newcomers -- Joe Budd and Curt Price.
The general election is set for April 13.
