McCain foresees changing terror trials
Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) said that he expects to win a floor vote on blocking funds for terrorists' civilian trials.
Speaking alongside seven other co-sponsors of the bill, McCain told reporters that his side has the votes to force Obama to change his policy.
"I believe we can win, this time, a vote on the floor of the U.S. Senate," he said.
Similar legislation has been introduced in the House by Rep. Pete King (R-N.Y.).
The bipartisan group of senators — Democrats Jim Webb (Va.) and Blanche Lincoln (Ark.) are on board — blasted the adminsitration for reading Miranda rights to the Christmas Day bomber just 50 minutes into his interrogation.
"I have some experience with interrogations, and 50 minutes doesn't get all the information you need," McCain said, referring to his five-year incarceration in Vietnam.
