Obama draws laughs by referencing GOP 'question time'
During his question and answer session before Senate Democrats on Wednesday, President Barack Obama drew some laughs by commenting about his similar appearance in front of House Republicans.
Playing before a friendlier audience this time, Obama twice mentioned the "great" time he had speaking to Republicans at their annual retreat.
Several senators in the room chuckled after Obama's remark.
Obama later said during the question and answer with Democrats that he had "a lot of fun" at the Republican retreat, drawing another round of laughs.
Despite the quips, the White House has warmed to regular exchanges with congressional Republicans.
Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said this week that the president would like to have a televised discussion with Senate Republicans.
