Sanford attends National Prayer Breakfast
Embattled South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford (R) is in attendance at Thursday morning's National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, D.C.
Thousands of people attend the breakfast every year, including senators, congressman, governors and international leaders.
According to a White House pool report, Sanford, who last year was revealed to be having an extramarital affair after taking a secretive trip to Argentina, is sitting in the front row but is "way off to the side."
Sanford was singled out by government watchdog group Citizens for
Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW), who criticized the
event's organizer, a conservative Christian group called The Family or
The Fellowship, for having ethical problems.
The governor was a guest at the group's C Street House in Washington, according to CREW.
