White House cancels daily press briefing over snowstorm
The White House has canceled its daily press briefing due to inclement weather.
White House Deputy Press Secretary Bill Burton tweeted that Robert Gibbs would not brief, referencing the popular tag being used on Twitter to refer to the impending storm, "snowpocalypse."
Burton tweeted:
No Gibbs briefing tomorrow (maybe gaggle). #snowpocalypse
The National Weather Service has issued a severe winter storm warning from 10 a.m. on Friday until 10 p.m. on Saturday. Snow accumulations between 18 and 24 inches have been predicted.
The gaggle, for what it's worth, is an off-camera briefing by the press secretary that usually takes place earlier in the day, meaning that reporters would have time to escape the White House and huddle back at home.
