Only of the most politically-charged Super Bowl ads in recent memory was released on YouTube Sunday just hours before the game.
The ad features former University of Florida quarterback Tim Tebow, who is an evangelical Christian, plugging the anti-abortion rights group Focus on the Family.
Doctor's recommended that Tebow's mother Pam have an abortion when she was pregnant with the future Heisman Trophy winner because she had contracted a life-threatening infection, but she went ahead with the pregnancy anyway. The ad centers around that story.
Some pro-abortion rights activists have largely panned the ad, saying that the Super Bowl is an inappropriate venue to spark an abortion debate.
But anti-abortion rights supporters say that the ad should air during the game, which is viewed by over 90 million people every year.
