Spitzer mum on comeback plans

Former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer (D) said today he has no plans to run for office in the near future, but he didn't exactly rule it out.

Rumors have been swirling that Spitzer is eyeing a political comeback, perhaps even a primary challenege against Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.).

But appearing on MSNBC tonight, Spitzer said he's happy where he is.

"I enjoy doing what I'm doing," said Spitzer, who has been writing columns, teaching at CCNY and appearing as a finance expert on cable news. "I enjoy watching from the sidelines for now."
