Twelve Dems, nine Republicans invited to healthcare summit
The White House on Friday officially invited 21 Democratic and Republican lawmakers from both chambers of Congress to its upcoming healthcare summit on Feb 25.
In addition to those designated lawmakers, many of whom sit on committees that have jurisdiction over healthcare, the White House has permitted House and Senate leaders to each invite four other members.
Moreover, representatives from the Office of Management and Budget, the Joint Committee on Taxation and the Congressional Budget Office will attend.
The White House has also announced Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius and Office of Health Reform Director Nancy DeParle will provide their thoughts at the meeting, which will be televised in full on C-SPAN.
