Two days after he joined Twitter, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said Tuesday that he uses the microblogging service himself.
Asked if he writes his own tweets at his daily press briefing, Gibbs said "inexplicably yes.
Gibbs cleared up a mystery surrounding many Twitter accounts of political figures: whether or not they tweet themselves or if other staff does it for them.
The press secretary established his account this weekend and has already gained over 21,000 followers.
Gibbs' adoption of Twitter is a big turnaround from last summer, when he said the site was blocked on White House computers, a statement which was later clarified by Deputy Press Secretary Bill Burton.
Phillips took up Twitter this month while Burton made his first tweet in January after leaving his account dormant for over a month.
