Cantor says bipartisan solution not possible this afternoon

House Minority Whip Eric Cantor (R-Va.) dismissed the prospects of a bipartisan solution at this afternoon's White House healthcare summit.

After votes at the Capitol during a lunch break from the bipartisan meeting with President Barack Obama, the second-ranking House Republicans struck a pessimistic note about the rest of the day's proceedings.

"No," the Minority Whip resolutely said when asked if he thought a bipartisan solution was possible.

Top Democrats, by contrast, had more mixed views about whether a bipartisan consensus was at all possible.

Cantor hopped back into his black security SUV, and headed back to the White House for lunch and the remaining discussion.
