Obama using nicotine replacement therapy

President Barack Obama is using nicotine replacement therapy to help himself quit smoking, according to the results of his physical exam released Sunday.

Navy Capt. Dr. Jeff Kuhlman examined Obama at the Bethesda Naval Medical Center in Maryland Sunday morning and recommended that the president "continue smoking cessation efforts."

Obama's opponents and some in the press raised his cigarette smoking as an issue on the campaign trail. Last June, Obama called himself a "former smoker" who occasionally "slips up" and has a cigarette, but never in front of his family.

Otherwise, Kuhlman noted that Obama is in "excellent" health and is "fit for duty" and is expected to remain that way for the duration of his presidency.

What a freaking Sissy-Wuss! Cold Turkey is the only way to go but it takes *alls and self discipline, and this "leader" is lacking in both! Spend more time practicing deep breathing exercises and brisk walking, It will take about 30 days to get most of the Nicotine out of the system but you will not be home free for at least a year or more. Grow a set and throw away those silly patches! I did it more than 25 years ago and I was a hard-core, 2 pack a day smoker. This "president" will most likely whine about "stress" etc. and make every excuse in the book, like the typical addict. pfft! Just do it!!BY Sunnyr on 02/28/2010 at 14:07

@Linda,Are you serious? Smoking is the leading cause of cardiovascular disease including heart attacks and strokes. It is also the number one cause of COPD and small cell lung cancer. This gets at the heart of healthcare. We have a country of people that make poor life choices and have insurance paid for by third parties. Thus people have no skin in the game, why should they change behavior someone else will pay for the consequences. Obama is an idiot!BY Kent on 02/28/2010 at 14:38
