Palin pokes fun at herself, tries stand-up on the Tonight Show

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) on Tuesday wrote on her hand again for a skit on the Tonight Show, and later did a short stand-up routine.

The show started with host Jay Leno asking about cue cards for his monologue when Palin interjected that he was "going old school," pointing to Leno's introduction scrawled on her hand.

During her interview with Leno, Palin criticized the media for being too opinionated and for its coverage of her children. She praised the Tea Party movement and Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), who is facing a competitive primary.

Palin finished her appearance with a brief standup routine. She said Alaska is very different than Los Angeles, adding, "Here when people have a frozen look on their face, I find out it's Botox."

She also said it's so cold in Alaska that "it's five degrees below Congress' approval rating."
