GOP Ways and Means leader votes for jobs bill
The top Republican on the Ways and Means Committee voted for the Democrats' jobs bill on Thursday.
Rep. Dave Camp (Mich.) was one of only six Republicans who supported the $15 billion measure and the only member of GOP leadership to back it.
A Camp voted for the bill because of "Michigan’s unemployment rate – highest in the nation for the last 4 years," according to Camp's spokesman.
The other Republicans who supported the bill were: Reps. Joseph Cao (La.), John Duncan (Tenn.), Vernon Ehlers (Mich.), Tim Murphy (Pa.) and Don Young (Alaska).
