Obama to meet with Ukrainian president

President Obama will meet privately with new Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych on Monday, the White House announced today.

Yanukovych will be in Washington for the Nuclear Security Summit.

"The President looks forward to his first opportunity to consult in person with newly-elected President Yanukovych on a broad range of issues of mutual concern, including nuclear non-proliferation, addressing the impacts of the global economic crisis, energy security and defense cooperation," the White House said in a statement announcing the meeting.

Yanukovych was inaugurated in February.
