Sen. Max Baucus (D-Mont.) appeared to be amused by Sen. David Vitter's (R-La.) display of emotion on the Senate floor Wednesday.
Vitter was delivering remarks about the stalled unemployment benefits package that expired several weeks ago. He requested that one section of the package be advanced, but when Baucus asked that the entire measure be included, Vitter objected.
"Not if it increases deficit and debt $108 billion a year. No sir I'm not, and the American people aren't and the American people are getting fed up with it," he said, slamming his fist on the podium.
Baucus and a man sitting next to him can be seen and heard laughing after Vitter's comment.
