FBI says 66-year-old man arrested after March threat against Rep. Brown-Waite
A 66-year-old man was arrested Sunday for threatening Rep. Ginny Brown-Waite (R-Fla.) last month, the FBI said.
The man, Erik Lawrence Pidrman, was arrested by FBI and local law enforcement agents Sunday afternoon.
The message came during a spate of threats made to members of Congress from both political parties in the wake of the vote on controversial healthcare reform legislation last month.
Several arrests have been made since, including of individuals who threatened House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), House Minority Whip Eric Cantor (R-Va.) and Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.).
Pidrman is expected to appear in federal court Monday. The case is being handled by the U.S. attorney's office for the Middle District of Florida.
