MSNBC says it accepted ad from Pataki's group
MSNBC said Monday afternoon that former New York Gov. George Pataki's claims that the network had rejected an ad from his group were untrue.
A spokesman for the network denied Pataki's claim that the network had turned down an ad from his new group, Revere America, in opposition to the new healthcare law passed by Democrats.
MSNBC spokesman Jeremy Gaines said the network accepted Pataki's ad, and will air it first tomorrow during "Morning Joe."
Pataki, who recently announced that he would not be a candidate for Senate in New York, wrote a terse email to network president Phil Griffin last week challenging the decision.
The former governor has reportedly sent signals of presidential ambitions, and attacking MSNBC -- which is seen by some conservatives as a network that is sympathetic to Democrats -- could prove to be red meat for Republican primary voters.
