The new Arizona immigration law may be unconstitutional, Karl Rove said today.
Speaking to a senior center in Florida while promoting his book, Rove suggested a court may strike down the law.
“I think there is going to be some constitutional problems with the bill,” he said, according to the Orlando Sentinel. “I wished they hadn’t passed it, in a way.”
While Rove said he trusted police officers not to abuse the law, “At the end of the day...I think there are better tools."
Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said today that the Justice Department may challenge the law in court.
